Yesterday we were hungry for pizza and decided to splurge a little on a treat the entire family enjoys. And, considering that I didn't feel like cooking anyway, we decided that Pizza Hut would be the perfect choice. It had been awhile since we ordered pizza online, so I guess I should have expected some changes. But, I wasn't prepared for this one.
Turns out Pizza Hut had raised their prices by $1.00 per pizza. I know that doesn't sound like a big price increase, but for some reason they also increased their delivery charge as well. I guess they are just making up for the cost of other cheap items on their menu. Needless to say, we only got two medium pizzas for twenty dollars. And, normally, that buys two medium pizzas and breadsticks or Cola. What a pain! Well, I guess we won't be having pizza as often.
Has the Pizza Hut in your area increased it's prices recently? Will you be ordering less pizza from them as a result?

If they do increase it, there will be less costumers. In my part of town, we seldom eat pizza as dinner because we eat rice with viands. Pizza is for snacks or in between meals. Increasing their prices would mean less sales here. No, they did not increase their prices, in fact, they have promos so that we will buy often. [everlasting]
I don't think our price for Pizza Hut has gone up recently. We ordered some a couple weeks ago while we were moving, and the price was still the same then as it always was. We probably won't be ordering Pizza Hut much anymore, though. Now we've moved and they don't deliver here. We actually prefer the way pizza tastes from Little Caesar's, plus it's cheaper. So since we have to drive into town to get the pizza ourselves now, we probably won't do Pizza Hut very often. [carlaabt]
I thought so. We did order pizzas last week and I pretty much ordered what I usually order with one extra thing and it was a lot more than the normal price. I did have to check to make sure I didn't double order anything, but yes i found it to be a little bit more than the norm. [maddysmommy]
My husband is big on rechecking their figures. We had ordered a couple of weeks ago and used a coupon. They gave out the total and we hung up to wait for the delivery. Well, hubby got out the calculator and then called them back. They changed the price 3 times before he was satisfied. I think they stick in little mystery charges and know that most people don't pay attention. It should be just the price, tax, and the delivery charge, but it was several dollars higher until he called them on it. [estherlou]
Wow. That is a lot. We don't eat at Pizza Hut very often as my husband does not like it very much. I had no idea they raised their prices. I can't believe they did. I thought their prices were very high to begin with. We will get pizza from Sam's Club or Black Jack. Both are much, much cheaper than most, and I think they're better too. [hermitcrabheaven]
I haven't had to pay for pizza ordered at pizza hut often. I can also easily take a quick drive to pizza hut as it's barely a mile from my house and I'd rather go there myself than have to worry about delivery charges and/or tip. Pizza Hut is my personal favorite and even if it was $10 more than any other pizza place, I'd buy it because it's the best. [raychill]
All of the pizza places in our area have raised their prices within the last month. This is because the cost of goods is going up, so they had to raise the prices. I always thought that pizza hut was expensive anyways, so with the increase in price I won't be ordering there too often. Those were the days when $20 bought you a good meal at pizza hut! [sunshine4]
I will remember these days fondly when in five years it takes $30 or more daily just to feed three people. Time to get out mama's crockpot and try some home cooking! [beautyqueen26]
Well you have to consider the price increas of having to order online, and the website, and extra help that they need to get the orders offline and to the correct delivery place, wouldn't that justify the increase of price >rolling eyes< We are not fond of Pizza Hut as it is, and we find that unless we stick with the el cheapo places we get more for our money going ot the store buying cheap cheese pizzas and the toppings that we want. Plus then we have left over, from the toppings makings we bought. For the same price or cheaper. Mooch [oneandonemakesix]
I guess I'm just splurging before I have to cut way back on expenses. That always happens to me. One sure sign that finances are about to be really tight is when I order way too much pizza. Then we run out of money. Whoops! [beautyqueen26]
yes, i feel so. Other day I went to Pizza hut n found the prices are too high thn wot it used to be before a month. [Harpreetrock]
Hi, well which side of the world we live, pizzas are more costlier than your place, but yes the prices of anything if you look around never seem to lessen down, they only just keep rising and rishing all the time. and its very sad why no measures are takn to keep things in control for the common man. Anyway i wonder if you can try out some alternative things in place of pizzas now, as a tis they hardly have any nutritious value to them. [vinzen]
First off, the Pizza hut by me is disgusting. We rarely order and everytime we do, we are again disappointed. We have a Little Ceaser's near us that is faster to go out and pick up ourselves. Can't complain about a five dollar lager pizza, but it is always yummy. Second, what about the diet? What about the all veg thing? (shakes head disapprovingly) [Katesmama]
I think I'd be willing to commute for good pizza! [beautyqueen26]
i think most of the fast food joints in european countries are being persuaded to increase the prices of their foods ,most especially the fatthy foods so that obesity can bereduced in the society,i couldnt beleieve that the law had been made in the UK already [reddevil1]
I will always believe it because it is a big internaional company! Then they will loose so many customers! There's no need to raised up the price but try raised up the services and menu! [ayris77]
I love pizza...I think it is really unfair for them to increase their price...I think that we have the same reason why my mom doesn't order pizza anymore that often [peachtabernilla]
We got dinner from Pizza Hut last night too. We got a couple of the Pizones. I don't know if the price of the pizzas have gone up or not. I did notice that when I called in the order I was connected to an order line somewhere else rather than the local Pizza Hut. I was surprised they were doing that now. [lucy02]
It's been a while since I have ordered pizza from Pizza Hut. So I really cannot compare. But I did notice when Mister Donut increased the price of their donuts. And Mc Donalds also had a slight price increase. Too bad! I used to have doughnuts regularly but now I consider it a luxury, LOL! I don't order that much at Mc Donald's too because of the price. [mari_skye]
I wonder if their online prices are the same as in the store. They wouldn't necessarily have to go by the menu prices because no one would see them. I've never ordered online. And we haven't had one delivered recently, so I don't know if our delivery charge has gone up or not. Maybe that is because of higher gas prices. I noticed the last time we were there that our Pizza Hut has new menus. When I worked in a restaurant, new menus usually meant at least some of the prices had increased. An increase of $1.00 a pizza is quite a bit. [DanaMark]
I know what you mean it is already at a high price and most people in our area shop around to find a good deal and that is why the store in our area acutally closed due to lack of business, people do look at the prices and usually can get two pizzas at the cost of one from pizza hut. They should be getting more competitive, otherwise they will continue to lose customers, mostly families who want to feed a few people and usually are regulars so that can amount to quite a bit of money. [bluemoi]
Food at the grocery stores and all restaurants is going to increase. With gas prices up and the price of raw materials rising, it is inevitable. The only good that might come out of this for me is that finally, after trying every diet on the market, I might lose weight! If you can't afford food, then you can't eat food! I haven't been to our Pizza Hut in ages (secondary to dieting) but I imagine it is up too. I have noticed a decrease in the number of cars in their lot on busy Fri/Sat nights. [crazynurse]
I do not know whether prices raised or not, because the bill is not what i pay.^_^ In recent, many things are rising in price in our country except the wages.~_~ [BeniceC]
I have only had pizza hut pizza delivered to my house one time. I usually order from Dominos and one time I ordered from Papa Johns but the best pizza in the world that my family has is pizza from Sams Club that my mother or father get. I ordered the pizza over the phone but looked at their menu online and decided what I want online. I really can't say if prices for pizza hut pizza in my area have gone up because I only ordered from them once and I ordered from Papa Johns once but all the other times I ordered from Dominos. I usually order pizza when my parent's are out of town. I order pizza about every 3 months, so I don't order pizza that often. I usually order 2 pizzas and freeze a lot of it. I usually spend more than $20 on pizza. It is usually about $26 including delivery charges and tip when I order from Papa Johns or Dominos. In July, when I ordered from Pizza Hut, I got one pizza and it was about $18 including tip and one big bottle of mug root beer. [carebears]
Frankly, I don't know about it at all. As I haven't been to Pizza Hut for a long time. I think it's expensive to eat there. Some months ago I bought a professional oven and it works well. So I like to make a pizza at home:) [youless]
I have no idea what the Pizza Hut in our area charges these days. It has been YEARS since we have gotten pizza from them. They are pretty low on our list of pizza choices. We have a couple of chains that are regional, Cassano's and Marco's, which are tops on our list. We also like Papa John's and Cici's. The only chain we like less than Pizza Hut is Donato's. [TeresaK]
I actually can believe that Pizza Hut raised their prices. I had no idea that they charged for delivery. I guess it really has been that long since I have eaten their food. One dollar pie does sound like a lot to me because I am always looking to pinch my pennies and even though you want a night off from cooking and treat every now and then does not mean you want to pay out the nose to do so. [razcal2267]
No, the Pizza Huts in my city didn't rise the prices, the competition is too huge (restaurants are very close together). The material inside each pizza is reduced, though. Evil. [deepseadolphin]
really maybe because all the ingredients for making pizza are very high now that's why they increase it. Anyway i love their pizza too:) happy posting my friend:) [joahnna18]
I am nt aware of price increses. For I don't eat pizza that often. Usually I eat pizza only when we eat out with my family & friends. And it is not on the regular basis. Sometimes, we go out but we don't eat pizza. Only if one among us likes it. [izathewzia]
