Cheap, Easy, Quick & Tasty Pizza

Do you want to know a Cheap & Easy way to do pizza, when you have little money left? Buy a homebrand frozen pizza. They usually are not well endowed with toppings, but the basic taste is there. Now add your own extra toppings, whatever you have around the house. Extra onion, sliced tomato, grated cheese, bacon or ham bits, maybe capsicum, mushrooms... a little extra chilli sauce. .. whatever suits the tastes of your family & what you have lying around the home.

I definitely agree! I always stock up on whatever kind of frozen pizza is on sale and add whatever I have around the house as extra flavor and toppings. Some non-frozen cheese makes a big difference, and my personal favorite topping is some sliced fresh jalpenos, which are very cheap and keep for a decent amount of time. Another favorite pizza recipe of mine is bagel pizzas. I buy the whole-wheat square ones, which are easy to pile cheese on, and then add some pizza sauce and grated cheese and some random toppings. Once again, jalapenos are my personal favorite. Then I throw the bagel pizza in the microwave for about two minutes on high, and voila, pizza. The whole thing takes about 5 minutes to prepare and cook! [valthezeh]
WHo makes square bagels? Never heard of them? Where do you find them? [Debs_place]

That's exactly what I do when I'm craving for pizza, I've used the ready dough and created various pizzas with our favourite toppings...hmm pizza, I can never deny a piece...lol Lots of cheese, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, jalapenos, olives, pineapple, and almost anything..hehe [greengal]

I used to do that, but I found a nicer easier way as well. I used Lebanese Bread as the base, and put the pizza base on or tomato paste, then go berserk with all the toppings that I love. Chuck in the oven 1/2 hour later its ready and perfect. YUM YUM. [Calais]

When I'm craving for pizza and I don't have money to buy for it because it's expensive I just get a sliced bread, put pizza sauce on it and top it with cheddar cheese, ham, pineapple, onions, meatballs and mushroom then put it on oven toaster. Then I have my own pizza which cost less yet still yummy! [chokie]

Yes I do the same, but I also buy plain pizza bases too and add my own topping from scratch. I use a tomatoe based dip for the tomatoey base and add lots of garlic, then I start to build the pizza with anything I have. My favourite topping is anchovy, I just have to have it on a pizza and olives of course, some ham capsicum and hot salami and the grated cheese on top.YUM. [jan135]

I'm probably one of a few people that actually like the frozen pizzas. But then again, I am so used to eating cheap that I am not fussy at all. But we will sometimes put extra cheese on them as my boyfriend loves cheese. [brendalee]

can you use the microwave to heat a frozen pizza? [ratburn]
yes, definitely [jennybianca]

We do this often, we have a certain "take and bake" cheese pizza that we buy on sale at the grocery deli. We always have stuff we can add. Hubby will not be without his anchovies, and green olives. [GardenGerty]

Most of the time, I like to make my own pizza. I will make the dough in my bread maker, so that helps me make a pizza quicker now. When my daughter was young, we would make the dough by hand together, which was a fun activity that I sure do miss doing with her. I'm hoping when my youngest daughter has children, she will use some of the recipes that were passed down from my family. [Fishmomma]

i do that also-i'll just get a plain and throw things on. i make french bread pizzas too. they're a bit thick, but they come out good:) [scarlet_woman]

yeah, i also do that! i'm staying alone at my pad and while surfing the net, i eat home-made pizza! i prefer buying the little pizza crust! i enjoy cooking and eating it! =) [ehdzzie]

That is a good way too do it. We've done that many times. My mom likes to add cheese, tomato and green olives. [cocobaby]

I've done this on shopping days when I feel like making something quick when I get home. Sometines I just buy the pre-baked shells and make a white pizza seasoned with olive oil, garlic powder, black pepper and provolone cheese and hot peppers for a topping. [KarenO52]

This is the way I usually do it too. Add stuff to a frozen one and it comes out pretty darned good. The frozen ones are never enough on their own lol. [cremechese]

thanx for the tip my friend, i'll try that one day. [aweins]

This is a good idea. We have a few brands that are worthy as is right from the store and package. We still tend to eat more meat cuts with a couple of vegetables. We have frozen we eat first and then work on the canned vegetables. Spaghetti is our quick and cheap and being broke meal. Even then we could have a side of vegetables. Thanks for sharing this since it could prove valuabel to others. [Willowlady]

well ilove pizza but they are so expensive that i cant buy it easily with my monthly pocket money so i just made it on my own in my home [fahim_hitman]

I never buy those frozen pizzas for that reason and they are always on sale. Now I can take advantage and add the extra ingredients. Very good idea. [linda345]

That's a great thing to make a homemade pizza. My family will sure enjoy it. I never think of it before but now, I will be preparing that this coming weekends for our family day in front of the T.V. I'm pretty sure my husband will like it with a liter of coca-cola. We will enjoy our favorite movie. [joyce423]

I haven't think about that. I think it is a nice idea rather than ordering pizza to your house in which they are still the same. And when you buy the homebrand frozen pizza you can add a lot of your favorite toppings without paying extra amount unlike in ordering pizza. Thanks for this great idea I never thought about it. [rzr247]

I Like to use English Muffins add the pizza sauce cheese and what ever else you like on it, put it in the oven till the cheese melts and enjoy! A great idea with little kids I allow them to do their own. [stacy624]

Yes I often do this as I can personalise it to suit our tastes. Another option is an actual french stick. Making pizzas from them. I have even been known to use thick sliced bread! Thanks for the advice! [mummyofthree]

My family have always done that and we made one of the quarters for each of us with our special favorites on it. [whiteheather39]

I have to disagree. I usually buy fresh made pizza, from a place like Papa Murphy's. Frozen is just too dried out for me. It's not just the toppings that get dry, it's more like the crust- it completely loses its taste. But that's just my opinion.... [halina23]

I love doing that I get these degirno pizza's they are pretty good without adding anything but if I want to I add onions and cheese I put sausage on them. Any extra toppings are good on a store brought pizza. Thanks hope you have a great day/evening. [bwrattybaby]

Yes we do that all the time until we found an awesome frozen pizza that u need not add anything to. Its connies pizza. Its so awesome. [dianel]

Exactly i always do this stuff but i love readymade pizza. So do everyone else. [fuzzytastic]

that's right!! u get a good pizza to carve ur hunger! [simplythanga]

That is a great idea, adding extra toppings to a pizza which is probably a basic one eg cheese and tomato topping only. If I feel like it a homemade pizza using wholemeal flour turns out well made with all my own toppings including tomato puree, tinned tomatoes plus cheese as a base with some herbs sprinkled on. Then add some cooked onion, mushroom, pepper plus some bacon or other meat. Very delicious. [organiclady35]
