It's nice when we eat the food we have according to what is comfortable for us. I was eating pizza today and as always, I use the fork and knife.This is the way I'm comfortable with.And then, on the other table I saw some people eating their pizza using their hands and just like me, they are enjoying their pizza too just like me. So it made me curious of what people prefer when eating pizza.Is it by using fork or mainly by hand? I'll appreciate your thoughts regarding this. Enjoy!

Hello homeshoppers! For me the reason why I have it by fork is that I don't want to be messy both my hands and around the sides of my mouth as I take a bite.So the fork basically controls the right bite size. You're right at that, we could wipe or wash our hands after but maybe we just don't want the messy feeling while eating. [dragonangel]

It depends on if we're talking Chicago deep dish or a New York style with a thinner crust. I go knife and fork on deep dish pizzas. That way I can scoop up all of the toppings. With a thinner crust I use my hands and suffer the consequences (stains on my shirt and blisters on the roof of my mouth). At the end of the day, though it's your choice. I sometimes use a fork and knife to eat my pizza if the slice is to big to hold in my hand. I find its easier to eat the pizza that way. If the slice is small enough then I will eat holding it in my hand. I think I enjoy the pizza more when using a fork and knife though. [lelin1123]

Both for me. When I'm eating in public, I will use a fork to eat my pizza to a point. After I get further up the slice, I tend to forgo the fork and just eat the rest using my hands. I think it's mainly because it can get messy. I prefer to keep my hands somewhat clean, and don't care for messy fingers. At home, I usually just use my hands. I usually eat my pizza by hand but I guess if it's a really sloppy pizza I could eat it with a fork. Normally the places that we order pizza from do a pretty good job with their pizzas though. I typically eat my pizza with my hands. The reason that I do this is because that is the way that my parents taught me to eat pizza when I was younger. Now, there are certain exceptions to this, when I am eating a pizza that has a lot of different toppings on it, then I will eat it with a fork and knife.
