I dont understand why they would make pizza without the sauce, the other day I want to walmart to shop for grocery's I wanted to get some french bread pizzas because I love french bread pizzas, well anyway, I found some that looked really good on the package and when I got home I baked it and I was so exited to eat it in front of my TV, so I sat down in front of my TV and popped in one of my favorite DVDS and finally the moment of truth I took a big bite out of my pizza, and something tasted off, and I looked down at my pizza and I folded the cheese back away from the crust and I saw that there was no pizza sauce, I was like WHAT NO SAUCE! who the hack would make pizza without pizza sauce, to me the sauce helps make the pizza well needless to say I was disappointed but I hated it anyway because I dont like wasting food.rolleyeshappy

I have never ate one but I have made some on rare occasions when I worked at a pizza shop in high school. It's due to allergies to tomatoes and citric acid. Also lactose and some oils. It would be a terrible allergy to have since I eat alot of those things. I had a friend whose son had a mitochondrial disease and he couldn't eat anything. Literally, he had to have smoothies made with all of his daily nutrients and fat cause he couldn't eat the food they came in. He eats baked chicken and plain sweet potatoes everyday of his life. I have never seen the sauceless pizza sold in the store though, that is pretty cool unless you accidentally purchase one! [psspurgeon1]

I have a friend that whenever we used to go out for pizza she would fold back the toppings, take a napkin and wipe off the sauce. I used to make fun of her, but I guess there are other folks out there that like sauce-less pizza. I like both pizza with sauce and without sauce. At Cici's pizza restaurant they make these alfredo pizzas that don't have sauce on them, just cheese and/or pepperoni. I don't think pizza is the same without sauce though, but they're both good. [vanonas]

A pizza isn't a pizza without sauce if you ask me. Cici's pizza is a restaurant around here that has a buffett of different pizza's, many which don't have sauce. I will eat a small slice of them but only because I'm hungry. The sauce is what makes it for me, but sometimes my husband actually prefers light sauce because he says it sometimes gives him a stomach ache - so maybe that's why they make them without sauce too. I am aware of the pizzas that have no sauce, however, I have never actually tried one before (I would imagine it would just feel like you're eating one of those cheese sticks like they make at Papa John's which are basically sauceless cheese pizzas cut into sticks instead of slices). I certainly am all for such a pizza as some kind of hors d'oeuvre that can be dunked in sauce, however, for a pizza, I am with pretty much everyone else here. I definitely like it better with sauce. It just tastes more like a pizza that way, if you know what I'm saying. My mother used to be the exact opposite - she used to ask for a pizza with no cheese. Once a waiter at a pizza parlor had apparently never heard such a request before, and said, "Ma'am, that's what a pizza is!" then proceeded to give her the definition of a pizza... pretty silly, I know. Anyway, for me, in order to qualify as a pizza, it must have the crust (I see some people just eat the contents off the top and leave the crust... must be a low carb thing; I sure could never do that), the sauce, and the cheese. I have to have pizza with sauce. In my opinion, pizza, just isn't pizza if there isn't any sauce on it. You just have to have it! I tried a sauceless pizza a few years ago and really, it wasn't that great. I just told people I enjoyed it so they wouldn't complain about me not liking what they hold so dear. It drives me crazy. I Prefer pizzas with sauce only..the other day i bought a pizza which i told to deliver it to my house and the i didnt have any sauce bottle stocked in my house and i expected that the pizza guy would give the sauce as he does usually but he didnt give and gave me a reason saying that they cancelled the deal with their usual sauce supplier and they were yet to finalize a new deal..i was very frustrated and then went to a store nearby and bought a sauce bottle and do you know which shop did it...it was the good old Dominos Pizza..Happy mylotting [balacancer22]

Now, I have had some pretty interesting pizza in my time, but never without sauce. I do not think that I would enjoy pizza without sauce. Although, I have had a few pizzas that probably would have been better off with no sauce at all, instead of the sauce that they used. That is quite odd. [Rozie37]

A great twist on this is my favorite which is pizza with white sauce. Though it may be a bit more fatty than the original red sauce, it tastes great with roasted chicken (caesar) or almost any other topping. I just use alfredo sauce or even pesto sauce when I get lazy. [AKMEDIA2]

I have been eating pizza almost my entire life and i cannot bear to eat that food with out the sauce. guess you just order in and forgot to check it first before you could make changes with the pizza deliverer. make sure you said it in precise that sauce should be added. staff sometimes will make it in a hurry that they might forgot to add something. Hey, Pizza tastes the best with sauce. I like heaps of types of Pizza but having Pizza with NO sauce is terrible!! It is like trying to drive a car without any wheels, it is impossible! Not to mention that it doesn't taste that good. I have had my mother make me some pizza when she was out of tomato sauce. A pizza without the pizza sauce is really AWFUL. That shouldn't be called as pizza at all. I decided to order pizza for my siblings since they are in the middle of finishing their projects or doing their thing before going back to school. Anyways, I love putting sauces or spices on my pizzas. All of us love to do that except my mother who just eats the pizza without putting any hot sauce or ketchup. She doesn't mind at all. I prefer Yellow cab pizza house because of their condiments there. I even put a little salt in my pizza then hot sauce and some pepper before eating it. I like pizza several different ways depending on my mood. What you had was a white pizza, it's usually made with garlic, olive oil and cheese. A margurita pizza is a white pizza with the addition of sun-dried (or fresh) tomatoes and fresh basil. I like both of those. I also like traditional pizza with tomato sauce, and occasionally a pesto pizza (with pesto instead of sauce). Hmmmmm...after thinking about it, it's starting to look like a pizza day...lol. I love pizza!! This recipe is my favorite!! This pizza without pizza sauce. -) Margherita Pizza Ingredients: 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil 1/2 lb. plum (Roma) tomatoes, chopped in 1/2" pieces 1 clove garlic, crushed and finely chopped 1/2 tsp. salt 1 12" uncooked NY Style dough crust 6 oz. mozzarella cheese, shredded 6 fresh basil leaves cut into julienne strips extra virgin olive oil 1/4 cup fresh shredded parmesan cheese Preparation: Combine 2 Tbls. olive oil, tomatoes, garlic, and salt in bowl. Allow to marinate while making dough. Brush dough crust lightly with olive oil. Top with cheese, then tomatoes. Drizzle with olive oil. Bake in preheated 500F oven on pizza stone for 8-10 minutes or until crust is golden brown and cheese is bubbly. Remove from oven and top with parmesan cheese, then basil. I never paid attention to the fact that some places made pizza without enough sauce until one day I asked my husband if he wanted to order some pizza from Mr.Jims pizza and he was like he didn't like their pizza because they didn't put enough sauce it. We wound up ordering from there however telling them to put extra sauce. So I can understand how when your are expecting to eat one of your fave foods and one of the key ingredients are missing.
