Animal rights organisations have launched a furious attack on a London restaurant who is serving frog legs as a topping in the pizza menu.
Would you eat a pizza containing frogs? No I would not! Would you?

responses and comments:
I would be joining the animal rights on this one for sure, frogs are one of my favourite animals and it's upsetting that a restaurant can be so hardfaced and uncaring to do this, they must have known it would antagonize the animal rights organization as well as other animal loving person. Ewww and I certainly wouldn't touch it either, sounds disgusting. [wolfie34]
Frogs are bred by people nowaday like pigs and cows so I don't think it's anything wrong with that pizza. I think there must be some human right organization to protect our right in eating. In China almost every restaurant serves frog as food and it's delicious. Ones can't stop others doing something due to their own taste. [Tonycn]
Although I have no desire to eat frog's legs, I see nothing with using them as a pizza topping. After all, it's common to use bacon for topping, sausage, hamburger, anchovies, and more, all of which are animals. So what's wrong with frog legs for those who enjoy them? Maybe the animal rights organizations should start attacking establishments that serve other animal product toppings. What's fair for one animal is fair for another. Not so? Memo to self: The do-gooders "to the rescue" again, full of crap, as usual. (C) 2008 RJScott [rjscott]
I agree with you. I don't see how frog's legs are any different then, say, chicken wings (not that those go on a pizza, just as a food in general). I have never actually tried them but considering that pizza is usually covered in a wide variety of animals, like you said, I don't see how frog's legs are any different! [jesssp]
I have eaten frog legs once, not on the pizza though. I must say they taste almost like rabbit, if you had that one or more usual chicken. You just have to deal with the fact its frog and that it looks funny lol. As for animal rights organizations, I see no reason why would they object frog meat more then chicken for example. And they dont attack every restaurant serving those, do they? [mojcica]
Definately not, i dont even like the sight of a frog. [siddy_t]
No, I wouldn't. Now if it were just frog's legs on their own...I probably still wouldn't eat it. My mom had frog's legs once and she said they smelled horrendous, but they tasted like chicken. I can't believe anyone would even order a pizza with that kind of topping. I wonder if they are just trying to call attention to their restaurant by making up a dish that hardly anyone would probably even order. [AmbiePam]
Okay, well that just ruins my appetite for pizza, lol.. well it doesn't but I definitely wouldn't be eating any frog legged pizza. I just wonder about that, I mean, ew?? Oh and how did they cut it up so it was edible? [SomeCowgirl]
First of all, I find it hilarious that animal rights activists are more upset over frogs legs than the pepperoni, sausage, ground beef and ham.lol While I would never eat this, it was rather popular in my part of the US to eat frog legs at restaurants in the 70s. My mom and dad had them and said they (of course) tasted like chicken. haha [rocketj1]
Of course I won't have pizza with frog leg. I think that is disgusting. Having frog leg as pizza topping is the craziest food I have heard. Are they run of idea for pizza topping until have to choose frog leg. Why cant' they use something eatable as topping. I will never eat pizza like that in my whole life. [ravinder18]
i don't want frog legs on my pizza but i like them fried. [ANTIQUELADY]
they are yummy fried arent they? [zukepr]
To me it sounds disgusting but I know my daughter ate them when she was in France. However, it was only after she had eaten some that she decided to ask the waiter what she was eating. As soon as she discovered she was eating frogs legs, she pushed her plate to one side. I don't know why the animal rights protestors don't attack the restaurants which serve prawns legs and crab legs, both of which I like. I think some people are always just looking for something to protest about. [Alexandria37]
really?uhhhhhh My God!shocked [bombshell]
Why? Frogs legs have been eaten everywhere for some time, for many years. The next thing you know they'll have us all being vegetarians and eating no meat. I love my veggies, don't get me wrong. I don't eat much meat but I do like it when I want it. I wouldn't eat that pizza...no way. But there are people that would, obviously. [moondancer]
Ewwww! Tastes like chicken?? I wouldn't want it on pizza. I feel bad for the poor frogs that get hunted down for their legs. Yuck.. [OreoCookie3]
Haaaa! I have no qualms about chicken, or cattle.. they are food animals... maybe they don't want to be food animals.. I'm sure.. but frogs? Nope.. I like frogs.. I collect ceramic ones.. To me killing a frog is about as bad as killing my Chihuahua for food. I got a pizza in the oven with pepperoni and sausage as I type this. [OreoCookie3]
yes I would! frog legs are yummy I think alot of people are just too afraid to try something new and its much easier for them to shun others that are more open-minded than they are [zukepr]
Personally I wouldn't eat one - but we have to remember frogs' legs are eaten in France all the time and it's quite normal - so there's nothing particularly surprising about them being used as a pizza topping. Same as with snails - they'd make a nice pizza, too! [guybrush]
I would not eat frog pizza, but then I am not French. lol I do not think a Frenchman would eat it either, but I heard it tastes like chicken. Most pizzas I know contain either pepperoni, ham, or ground round. I would suppose they took the bones off, and removed the skin. I doubt they would just place the frog leg bone in on top of the pizza dough and covered it with cheese. It does sound interesting. I wonder what it tastes like. hmm [suspenseful]
It seems that you simply skipped over the point that cattle and pigs are also "animals" whose meat is used for pizza topping ... pepperoni, hamburger, bacon, ham, etc., as well as anchovies, which are fish. They're all animals ... so why are the activists only concerned with frog legs? Seems like a big todo about NOTHING unless they protest the killing of ALL animals. Hamburger, anyone? [rjscott]
ew! i cannot stand frogs, let alone eat them! yuck. :( but i totally think it's stupid for these activists to get so upset about serving frog's legs on pizza. i agree that it is basically the same thing as chicken wings or sausage or whatever. as long as something is not being killed just for fun and people are actually using it for food, well then that is what God provided us animals for! sometimes i think these animal rights people go a bit too far... [fatmansmommy]
I don't really see why people would care about this. I mean, I don't know anything about how the frogs were harvested or if they were taken or hunted or bred, but what makes them any different from any other animals we eat? We do have to eat meat, we're omnivores, but I guess new things have a tendency to scare people. I don't think a lot of frogs would have to suffer anyway, because I don't think every customer is going to want it. It might be more normal in France, but not London. [Sheepie]
WATCH IT! Who you calling an omnivore? I don't like tags. wub [rjscott]
Eww, I do not eat pond food, yuck! [nanajanet]
Hi ronaldinu, Yuk!!!,that is disgusting was it a French resturant? I can't believe it, why would they serve frogs legs here? it a French thing. Tamara [tamarafireheart]
No I definitley wouldn't either thats horrible..I don't like pizza at the best of times so with frogs legs I think I would be sick!! [littleowl]
Frog pizza! That is exotic! Ohh, I know frog tastes like chicken but to put it in a pizza is somewhat a different thing! I can't eat that! Yakkkk! There are so many other delightful toppings....why frog legs....(ha!ha!ha!) How weird some could really be! [salonga]
I dun think it's anything wrong with that.. MOst chinese resturants and even coffee shops are serving that as a dish.. And it's legal, so what's the big deal about it?? PLus, frog legs are not considered to be a delicacy or what.. IF it's really talking about animal rights, all the more sausages and pork should be banned because they do not poullute the environment, but yet humans just like to use them for all kinds of experiements.. [kun2349]
Frog legs are served in certian parts of this country as a meat, if you can eat them by them selves why not on pizza? What do the animal rights people want to do serve the whole frog? [savypat]
I have heard that frogs leg are very good but I myself have never had them. I do like pizza alot but I think I would have to stick to more traditional toppings. I don't think I could get myself to eat it with legs on it.....yuck! [4ofmyown]
No I would not eat a pizza with frog leg on it, it sound nasty, some people make any thing out of a pizza, you have to becareful when you go tp some of these restaurants, they will serve you any thing just to make a buck, well i am very careful what i eat from these restaurants, I don't just eat anything, because it looks good, I like to ask questions befor I put anything in my mouth.shocked [notlistening2]
Hi there ronaldinu Yet another story I haven't heard but it doesn't sound very appetizing to me so I think I will pass on that one and stick to chicken and mushrooms!! [Humbug25]
I think that frog legs on pizza sounds really disgusting! I don't see any difference between eating a frog or eating a cow etc they are all creatures and I don't think they should be eating. That said I am sure you can tell that I am a vegetarian. If these animal rights activists are furiously attacking a London restaurant who is serving frog legs then I would assume they are doing the same things to any resturant that is not vegetarian! I would think that frog legs are a delicacy in some places but it doesnt sound to appetizing not very filling. I wonder what the consumers of the frog legs are comparing the taste of the frog legs to. Anyone ever eat frog legs and have any idea what other animal they taste like? [shaggin]
hell no!! i dont want frog anything in my mouth!! heck i dont like anything abnormal on my pizza [moonlitmagikchild]
NO! That sounds disgusting. My mom loves frog's legs, though, she might eat it. She and her brother would catch frogs in the creek and her mom would serve the legs for dinner. This was back in the 20's and 30's when they were very poor and she still likes frog's legs. [dragon54u]
Yummmy. lol. No, I wouldn't eat pizza with frog legs on it, but I don't understand why animal rights activists are suddenly launching an attack on the London restaurant for serving this unusual meal when pigs and sardines are frequently slaughtered to create the "normal" toppings for a pizza. I don't see why frog legs on a pizza is such a big deal. If the person wants frog legs, then let them eat frog legs. -Stef [steflane]
No, I would never eat a frog in any of my favorite pizza in the place as one of the toppings, I am not eating any exotic food. [iyah10]
Never fancied trying frogs legs - always thought of it as one of those "if I was starving and there was nothing else" foods. If I was going to try them I certainly wouldn't want them on a pizza but however the French have them. Sticking them on pizza smells of a publicity stunt and something that instantly identify the consumer as a thick chav. [huswyf]
I LOVE frogs! My Mom cook the most delicious frog mealsssss (there are different types of ways you can cook them), so I'd definitely try those frog legs pizza topping HO HO HO HO HO HO...Bring it on!!! [ailema4ever]
Frog legs??!! Eeewwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!! Was the activists really required? I mean what sort of people would relish pizzas with frog legs as toppings? Not me, for sure. I thought the preparation would die out on itself for lack of order! And to what length the eateries would go to attract customers and create 'unique' dishes!!?? [sudiptacallingu]
hi ronaldinu there would be no way I would even taste frog legs, not even when you paid me to do so. I am not that adventurous. [book1962]
Yuck! No I wouldn't eat a pizza with frog legs on it but I also wouldn't protest if someone else wanted to. It is there choice. [mtdewgurl74]
