I usually will wait to slice mines about 15 minutes from the time that I have taken it out. This gives it time to cool off. I can cut it more easier when it has cooled down. I tried cutting it while it was very hot once, and the cheese stuck to the knife, and some of the pizza was on the knife too. So, now I have started to slice it while it has cooled down.. How long do you wait to slice your pizza, once it is hot from the oven?

I have a pair of kitchen scissors. I never use a knife to cut my pizza. I use the scissors. I wait about 3 minutes and then start cutting. If the cheese sticks, I clean it off right away. Then the scissors go into the dishwasher. [royal52gens]
Depends how hungry I am. I worked at a pizzeria, I am from NY, so I guess I was used to whipping them out of the oven and cutting them up. Sometimes at home I cut them instantly so they cool down...but I love melty, hanging cheese!!! Yum..... my mom overnighted me pizza when I was in CA from NY and again sent me pizza on my birthday from NY to TX she is the best, and so is NY (or Chicago) pizza! [Pitgull]

Hi frnds, when the pizza is baked from the oven,how long do you wait to slice the pizza? When iam going to pizza hot or domino's i will wait for 5 to 10 minutes when pizza slices will take that much time for pizza slices in the oven after over pizza they will serve the pizza to our table.The pizza will be very hot nice tasty and good smell.they will gave knife,masala,tissue papers,tomato sauce. i will go to pizza hut once in a week.I like a pizza either veg pizza or non veg pizza. I use a pizza wheel that is good and sharp - but I wait a few minutes to slice so that the cheese does not slide off the top. during those few minutes I will ready the plates - and dish up any sides such as the salad. I do not think I am patient enough to wait a full 15 minutes though. mmm pizza. [Modestah]

Hi there cream. i usually cut it after i put it in a plate or something so that i can distribute it to the ones that will eat it ( i don't eat pizza alone, but rather with friends and family). It's true that it would be probably best to wait, but some people like to eat it faster then that (and hotter for that matter) so i don't wait 15 minutes. [elitess]
I am too impatient to wait any longer than a minute so it is sliced as soon as it comes out! I use one of those pizza cutters though so it is really easy to do it while it is hot. [gemini_rose]
when i prepare a pizza i would usually wait till it cools down a little and when it is just a little warm i would slice it and consume it. when it is very hot when it is immediately cooked i would not slice it as it sometimes dont cut properly and hence i would cut when it cools a little. now i usually bring that mini pizza bases which is really nice to cook and also easy to eat and dont require any cutting so i like to bring that. Hello cream. I have never baked pizza in the house, but I have been to our local pizza shop for some times. That was years ago when the Champion Pizza shop was still there. Not it is gone as it is hard for the shop to go on with its business in our local town. But I did enjoy a lot of the pizza in the shop. We used to slice our 12-inch pizza when it was served to us on the table. There is one thing I don't like about pizza, which is the salty taste. It is too salty. Hey Hey cream happy Sometiems if i make a homemade pizza it looks so good that as soon as it comes outta the oven i have to pick at it LOL. I usually take it out of the oven. Wait 2 or 3 minutes and start cutting it because I can't longer. I am usually really hungry so I don't mind that the Pizza is still a little hot. I like to eat the pizza when it is fresh out of the oven. Therefore, I will start to cut it as soon as I take it out. This conversation is making me very hungry. Pizza is one of my favorite foods. I usually have a pizza cutter handy to slice it up. Then I will put it on my plate. If it is too hot to eat, I will cut it into bite size pieces. That makes it cool off a little faster, or at least it seems like it. What is your favorite pizza? My favorite is pepperoni and extra cheese.
