Fridays are rush days for me. So much to get done at work before 9 am and then rushing to the bank and paying bills and collecting in money owed etc. Really busy so i like to get to work very early to get things done.
Well, I overslept and rushed from my bed, knocking my glasses on the floor, knocking my glass of water from my bedside table onto the floor. Then I tripped over toys that were carefully left for me to trip over and banged into the bathroom door. Turned on the shower and opened the door leading to sitting room and yelled for someone to please make me coffee.
Turned around to go into bathroom and slipped on water from glass that had gone flying and grabbed frantically onto bathroom door to prevent my falling. I still slid around but was not hurt.lol
I sat there bemused when my grandson (3 years) looked at me in amazement and said,
"You're a belly flop on a pizza." I don't know if it is a kid saying or where it came from, but this described my position so well.
So tell me? Are you a belly flop on a pizza today?

I'm sorry that you are having sure a bad day. I hope you have not hurt yourself in all of that. I must admit that I've had days like that, just not lately. I could just picture you going through all of this as I read it. I must say it was funny although I did not laugh...I don't know why really. When I am going through a day like that or things like that, I force myself to just slow down and get things done. If I did not slow down I'd have more mishaps making me later and slowing down I could get it all done and find that I'm not really all that late if I am at all. [moondancer]

Kid's say the cutest things, don't they? I'm glad you weren't hurt. I'm quite surprised at how much I'm getting accomplished today. I did my shopping, and then brought the kids to the pool because it's finally nice. Now I have to wait at home until 4pm when the woman is coming to buy my computer... then it's dinner time, and I expect to spend the rest of the evening relaxing! [katsmeow1213]

Ha ha ha. That description is so fitting I have a fair idea of exactly how you must have looked to the child. Kids say the darnest thing. Even if that expression is not a kiddies expression the fact that a 3 yr old was able to so fittingly apply that description is hilarious. Happy you did not hurt yourself in the process. [tjades]

Kids come up with the greatest expressions! :-) Nope, I'm not a belly flop on a pizza today, though I am still down about losing my friend.... This kind of sort of reminds me of a story a friend told me. She was moving and hadn't finished packing her stuff when she got called away on an emergency. Her kids and grandkids finished packing for her. At the time that she wrote the story, she still hadn't opened the box labelled "greasy grimy gopher guts". [dawnald]
I would have ditched that box pronto, I am sorry I did not know that you had lost a friend. I heard yesterday that I lost one of my best maler friends. I turned on the tap and it is still flowing. He was gay and died of all things from an untreated sinus infection that entered his brain. He should have been out of hospital today and now we are arranging his funeral. I honestly did not know how much I loved him until he died. He was an amazing support to me since my husband died. I'm still belly flopping on a pizza. [cynthiann]

oh that is me exactly. I had low blood sugar, im a diab etic, in the middle of the night so ate some candy then a burrito, got diarrhea, went to bathroom, had accident on floor, finally got back to sleep and found out I now had high b lood sugar, I went shopping with the group, bumped my knee, dropped my purchases, and ran into another customer, and finally got out of the store in one piece. oh yes that described my day to a t. a bellyflop on a pizza, wow what truth can come from a little three year old, smart kid. They have been with me for 16 months whilst their Mom was working in the Middle East. They leave with her on Saturday to go back where she is working and to start kindergarten.
